Animal Day Seminar.

ANIMAL day seminar organised by Brooke in collaboration with Voice for the voiceless and Give us Life animal welfare at four points by Sheraton was held on 10-10-2020. Gusts arrived at the venue at 9:00 a.m and were served with a delicious breakfast.

The seminar started with a documentary video in which BROOK presented a brief history about when it started its animal welfare services in U.K and how and when it opened the animal shelter homes in Pakistan.

The documentary revealed the facts about the hardships faced by local N.G.Os for the rescue of earthquake hit victims stuck in the far flung areas where donkeys, mules and horses had to carry the life stock for about 8km at the altitude.

Two panel discussions regarding animal welfare and rights were also arranged in the event. The discussion panels were consisted of Dr. Ahmed Raza (A well know Senior Veterinary Doctor ) , Hira Jaleel (Animal Welfare advocate), Advocate Hamza Rashid , Aniza Khan Umer Zai (MD Give Us Life Animal Welfare - Reg), Kiran Maheen (Founder TWS), Sara Ghandapur (Member Saaya). The discussions were moderated by Naeem Abbas Shah (Advocacy Manager Brooke) and Amina Obaid Khawaj (founder Compassion for Animals). 

We need to develop the acceptance for co-existence because the world was not created only for human beings. It was created for the living beings, including, animals, Plants and insects, Aniza Khan said during the panel discussion .

GOD has created all the creatures on purpose. Dogs are best for security, donkeys for carrying a load, horses for a swift ride and all the other animals have some characteristics which make them worthwhile in human life. Animals spend their lives being a means of business for humans profiting them lucratively. The purpose of their life is just to stay within the bounds of their owner's set domain for them. They know no outer world where they can share their grief with their companions if they have any. Take a horse, it spends all day long in sweltering heat or extreme cold, affixed to the chariot with blinkers on his eyes unaware of the world around it, not enjoying the life around and just moving on the commands of his owner passed to him through the bridles and sometimes with a whip, which I am sure must not be a good experience for it.
